As part of our commitment to promoting better mental health in the community, Sevenoaks Area Mind are pleased to announce a new series of courses, Coping with Life. These are psycho-educational programmes based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) principals, offering participants the chance to learn new coping skills and strategies that are proven to be effective. The Youth Mental Health First Aid is a 2 day course for those who that teach, work, live with or care for young people aged 11 – 18. The Altered Art exhibition at Knole House attracted strong interest from people keen to purchase the original works on display. The exhibition, which closed on 19 July, was organised by Sevenoaks Area Mind to showcase the skills and creativity of the people who use its services. Visitors to the exhibition were able to bid for the artworks on display, and after strong interest, we can reveal that the total amount raised was over £1300!! Sevenoaks Area Mind and MHR Reachout have joined together to launch a new service in Edenbridge. The Service User Forum is a free, friendly social group for information and support regarding mental health. You’ll meet like-minded, understanding people in a comfortable local environment, where you can have your say about issues that matter to you.
