Training

One in four of us will experience mental health problems at some point in our lives.

It is really important, therefore, that we are all able to respond in a helpful, supportive and non-stigmatising way. Sevenoaks Area Mind – through our Mental Health Awareness Group and in partnership with Mental Health First Aid (England) – offer a variety of trainings and workshops to respond to this need.

The Sevenoaks Area Mental Health Awareness Group has been operating in South West Kent for over twelve years, working to reduce the stigma and discrimination which surrounds people with mental health problems.

Workshops are brought to your premises in a variety of formats customised to your requirements. We are now offering a series of these workshops at our Sevenoaks Centre. For dates, further information and to book a place, see our Mental Health Awareness page.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is exactly what you might think – a first aid approach to mental health. Originally founded and developed by Betty Kitchener and Professor Tony Jorm in Australia, MHFA has been successfully introduced in many countries around the world.

In partnership with Mental Health First Aid England, we are now launching a series of these very successful courses at our Sevenoaks Centre. For dates, further information and to book a place, see our Mental Health First Aid page.
